European Programmes Conference

The European Office of Cyprus (EOC), member both of the «Enterprise Europe Network» and EAEC-EOC Task Force consortium, in collaboration with the European Commission (DG Joint Research Centre - S3 Platform & Regional and Urban Policy), is organising a Conference under the title “European Programmes Conference”.

 

The European Office of Cyprus (EOC), member both of the «Enterprise Europe Network» and EAEC-EOC Task Force consortium, in collaboration with the European Commission (DG Joint Research Centre - S3 Platform & Regional and Urban Policy), is organising a Conference under the title “European Programmes Conference”. The morning session of the conference is dedicated to: Synergies between European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Research and Innovation Funding: the Stairway to Excellence - How the synergies could be developed in Cyprus». The Stairway to Excellence (S2E) project that forms part of the Smart Specialisation Plat-form (S3P) and is executed by the Joint Re-search Centre (JRC) and the DG REGIO will be presented during the Conference. The project is centred on the provision of assistance to the 13 Member States who joined the European Union in 2004 and subsequent years with the aim of closing the innovation gap and promoting excellence in Europe. The second part of the conference will focus on the Cypriot enterprises and their participation in EU projects.

The Conference aims at the following:

  • Raise awareness of the actions needed to enable synergies between different EU funding programmes for research and innovation;
  • Share experiences in combining funding from Structural Funds and Framework Programme to improve excellence in R&I systems;
  • Draw lessons for the future.

 

The European Business Support Centre Cyprus is member of the «Enterprise Europe Network» and a mechanism which provides informational and advisory services for the development and competitiveness of Cypriot enterprises’ innovation. The «Enterprise Europe Network» is aimed at helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in their efforts to optimise their potential and capacity for innovation. The network consists of more than 600 contact points / organisations in about 40 countries.
